The theme is don’t forget about the big item. The big item in Max’s story is the bread. In our lives the big item is God’s love and care for us. My evidence is found on page 34. The athour’s main point is that we forget the bread, but Simon Peter didn’t. He got it full on. In my opinion there is no implied idea. His goal was to remember God and I feel that Max hit that subject.
